Roses that rises to big occasion

Centuries later, the rose remains the most evocative sign of romance. But not all derserve to be on the wedding guest list. "Some roses just don't open as well as others, and for a wedding, you want them look soft and feminine," said florist Designs East in Dallas, Texas., which received the "best of" award from the Knot this year. Lower quality roses are often cut too soon so their buds stay closed "like bullets," she said. "And there's nothing romantic about those."
